405 Remote central locking blipper

Post by pugtramp »

Does anyone know anything about the early 405 IR remote CL blipper? Had the car a while but never had the blipper. Where can I get hold of one apart from main dealer? Can they be re-coded to match if I find a used one? [8)]

If it's similar to the IR type on the 306 you can re-program them yourself (the instructions are in the owners handbook for my 306).
I have seen loads of these IR remote keys for peugeot's on ebay.
Do a search on there for peugeot remotes or peugeot plips.

Thanks mate. I have no owner's manual. I don't suppose you could tell me how the 306 plip is re-coded?

The instructions in the 306 handbook for reprograming of the IR remote are as follows....
The doors must be unlocked
Use the key without remote control to turn on the ignition (to position A "accessories")
Place the remote control key within 4 inches (10cms) of thereceiver (located close to the interior mirror).
Press button 1 or 2 within 10 seconds of turning the ignition key
(if you have two remothe control keys) press button 1 or 2 within 10 seconds of programing the first key.
Turn off the ignition and test the keys.
I'm not sure if this is the same for the 405 but maybe worth a try.
