309 Immobiliser Trouble

Hi, I've just got a new 309 GTi and I'm having a little trouble with the immobiliser. It keeps beeping and won't stop. It beeps about every 5 seconds or so, but has no effect on whether the engine starts or not and keeps beeping irrespective of whether the engine is running or whether the key fob is held to the sensor. I belive it's a standard Pug one, I've got the fitting certificate from peugeot. Has anyone got any ideas what the beeping may mean or how to stop it?
