406 no LH headlamp dipped beam

Post by ianb »

I've replaced the bulb with a new one and also swapped it with the rh bulb to be sure, the fuse is ok , the bulb is ok, and there's no obvious loose wires at the bulb end,
Main beam (seperate bulb) works ok,
Any ideas please
Thanks in advance

I'd suggest removing the plug on the bulb end, and checking with a multi meter there is voltage present. Dirty contacts may be the cause. If there is not power at the bulb end, you'll need to trace it backwards to find the break.

Check the earths.
Then check them again.
Then take them all off, clean up the earthing points and the connectors and put them all back together with a smear of petroleum jelly.

Thanks for that chaps,
Cleaned up the earths and the connector contacts and hey presto! Much more satisfying than paying a dealer to do it for me.
