Problems with my 306 DTurbo

Post by Haji »

Ive got a 1995 DTurbo 306, love the car to bits but having a few problems..
First of all in the mornings when its the first start of the day my car gives a puff of white smoke and it is also very lumpy until i rev it for some time and until it warms up then no prolems and secondly the mpg is absolutly shiiite.. not actualy worked it out but from £20 i only get like 60 miles.
Hey guys please any advice of how to get it sorted.. your help would very much appreciated.

make sure the injector leak off pipes are ok and not split o damaged
i had same problem, and i replaced these and it went better, i still get smoke now but i think thats to do with faulty glowplugs

the white white smoke and lumpiness is the glow plugs, replace them all.
dont have a clue about the rest, have you tried running some reddex through it?

Begin with basics, eg new air filter and fuel filter (and oil if not done recently).
I agree with glow plugs needing replacing.

Could be the glow plug relay and / or cold start control unit as well.

Hi,
I had similar problems with my 94 306 TD. It was eventually discovered to be the injector pump timing - if this is out then I'd expect you'll be getting poor fuel economy as well
