With a few members asking about independents,how about us all listing the ones we know/use in the links section.With phone number,web details etc.They are then all in one place.
Unless the admin/moderators have any objections.

I'd have added one I use occasionally , when I don't have time to do a job myself.
That was until yesterday, when they returned my 205 without replacing a nearside driveshaft gaiter with a 3-inch split in it.
Yes, you've guessed it, they replaced the other side.
There's a legal consideration to naming businesses on the web - slag them off and you leave yourself, and the website, open to defamation claims. So there's only one solution - stay true to the DIY!

If what you say about a company is true then they aren't going to get very far sueing you. Even with the UK's fairly extremist libel laws. You are perfectly free to name the outfit that just sent your car back with the knackered gaiter unreplaced. They can even reply here in their defence if they like.
