406 Immobiliser

Post by fatbugger »

Hi All
Does anyone know the proceedure for programming a 406 remote key? I believe it is possible.Apparantly the immobiliser is disarmed for a short space of time so you can start vehicle without having to put the code in the keypad when you have opened the car with remote key.

Hi
Yes it is possible to set the RF remotes to unlock the keypad for one minute.
Try this first because someone might have already programed the remote keys into the keypads memory.
Turn the ignition on, Enter the 4 digit code, Press C 1 C
Turn the ignition off, Get out the car, Lock it with the remote & then Unlock it again & see if the keypads codes now unlocked for 1 minute.
I have programed the 406 Keys before but I cant remember how its done, It was about 6 years ago I last done a 406 keypad. Your local Peugeot dealer should still have the 406 Keyguide leaflet that covers this procedure, The early 406 handbooks had the WRONG instructions in them.
Also you have total closure for the electric windows on the GLX when you remotely DEADLOCK the car, Open all 4 windows, Deadlock the car with the remote, Big button & then small button withing 3 seconds & watch.
Theres also a handy shelf for the 406 handbook wallet under the front passenger seat too.
