Where to get cinch connectors/crimps

Post by Wookey »

My van uses cinch bulkhead conectors on the wiring loom throughout - I assume lots of PSA vehicles do. They are very good. However I have had real trouble getting new crimps for them. Last year I managed to get some freebie ones from Cinch in the US, after a lot of ringing round, emailing and pestering, but this year I discovered that the engine bay bulkhead connector uses very slightly different crimps to the other connectors (door pillars, rear lighting, under dash).
I need to do a load of wiring for my camper conversion and I want to do it neatly using the multitude of spare ways in this connector rather than by just drilling more holes (rust, noise, water). I've tried mailing cinch UK but got no response so far. I'll try again, but was wondering if you guys had already solved the problem of where to get them. 'Vehicle wiring supplies' - an otherwise very useful supplier don't have any. And Citroen/Peugeot will only sell you massive sections of wiring loom at huge expense.
Advice welcome
TIA

Yes I emailed sales@cinch.co.uk and got no response. I suppose I should try phoning them up. Thanx for the comprehensive distributor list!

And I looked in RS' and Farnell's catalogues and whilst they do have cinch stuff they don't have cinch automotive connectors (or didn't last year).

Although they don't do Cinch, I found an old catalogue which brought this place back to mind:

A gem of a place. Battery changeover switches, real jump leads, those old round gauges - lots of excellent stuff.

OK - I phoned cinch UK and they said that the automotive bit (nothing to do with the UK) has been sold to molex. I phoned molex and got nothing more than an answerphone till this morning. They said I have to phone the Ettlingen factory in Germany. I'll give that a go at some point and report back when I find out the answers.

And Molex ettlingen say 'you need to talk to these people in france' 00 33 130 858700. But there is no answer there today. They really dont want to sell these connectors to us do they? I'll try again another time.
