Had one once as a curtesy car when my company Pug 309 GlXi was being serviced early 1992. It was snowing and after a few hours I twigged it was 4X4. Up to then I thouight that this car was great no slipping in the snow as I drove through the Shropshire country side, hadn't noticed the badging as it was an estate. Only had it for 2 days but at 50mph you didn't feel speed humps. Well put together and drove great, bright red with loads of space.

Surely that was just a 4wd 405, probably a 1.9 8v at most as the mi16 4x4 was only saloon. Their were only about 8 T16's sold in the uk, most were france and the netherlands.
Not 405 but I think the only other recent PSA turbo petrol is the 2.0 8v 150bhp unit that was in the 406 sri turbo, xm and xantia. Based on the 123bhp unit that was in the mk2 zx volcane with a veryyyyyyy low pressure turbo

This estate was defo right hand drive. All I can say is didn't notice any special badges but on the the dash was a light that ocasionaly came on when the car started to slip but this could have been ABS I supose. The interior was a mix of leather and velour with chrome / silver bits. Nice and tidy went like stink. Saying that I did have a Pug 309 at the time so even my dads metro seemed fast.

Yep, they were built to abide by the homologation rules for Group B world rallying which stated that to enter the championship you had to produce at least 200 road legal variants of the model although obviosuly not identical, but based on to a certain extent. The full on works 205 T16's were putting out 500 odd bhp by the end of the group B days.
Ie for me, the holy grails of Visa's is the 4wd Mille Piste of which they only made 220 in total, all intended for rallying but were also all road spec to start with. The last 20 were the Evo ones putting out 145bhp from their by then 1434cc engines. Saw one for sale recently but £8K is out of my reach. A non Evo can be picked up for 4-5K. One day maybe...
