205 warning light

Post by demag »

I had my old F reg 205 GLD serviced a few weeks back so my son can use it after passing his test. He now tells me a warning light is lit on the dash. I think its the water in fuel lamp. It still runs well but mpg is down and there doesn't seem to be any less water.
Anyone help here?

Have you drained the filter? The light can be erratic and stay on even if you do drain it. The drain cock is at the bottom of the filter (where arrow points to in picture) and an F reg should have the filter tucked up in the bulkhead corner of the engine compartment at the driver's side. You probably have a heated filter too - hoses connected to the heater circuit. Makes access a bit of a pain.
