306 is it a Meridian?

Don't know if anyone can help,just bought a 98 306 with meridian badges on the boot and front doors.the interia looks just the same as a LX.I expected better trim with leather seats etc.What does the meridian bit mean?

I expect its just a limited edition based on a LX.Have a look at Parkers price guide.I know the book in the shops lists all models,l/editions,trim,extras etc....
Also on the net,not sure about the address.Dont know if you can access all the model history though.

Just had a look at my Parkers guide from Feb 2004. It says that "May 98 special edition 1.4 Equinox £10,995 and Meridian 1.6 £11,645 hatch backs launched. Used values for Meridian slightly lower than those of the LX model with comparible trim" So it seems that it's a limited model but with the same trim as the LX, go figure. Must be the name badges as NP says.
