405 diesel stop solenoid

Post by David Humphrey »

My 405 has decided to keep running after switching off.Took solenoid off and checked it by putting on a battery and it operates. Can only assume it is the rubber seal on the plunger not sealing ? Any other ideas please

Is it possible to get a new rubber or do you have to get the whole bit ?

I have never had to renew so I am afraid I can't say. I do know of people who have renewed the whole solenoid and I have seen many injector pumps at scrapyards with the solenoid removed. Have you checked the chamber where the plunger seats? Could be dirt in there.
