I have purchased a philips cd autochanger complete with bracket from a 96 406 saloon and want to fit to my 96 406 saloon in the l/h rear of the boot.
Has anyone any idea? It mounts in three places. A rubber mount at the bottom which goes over the fixing where the plastic bin attaches(which obviously has to be discarded) and there are two further captive nuts one either side at the top of the bracket. There are no fixing points for these. Do I really have to drill through the wheel arch as suggested by my local Peugeot dealer or is there another way?

Hi
I fitted the Philips CD changer in question to my 1996 406 GLX when I had it.
The holes where already pre drilled, Remove the grey plastic bin & you should find the 2 holes already & waiting for the bracket.
I hope you got both CD leads with the changer, The short one ( ISO square plug one end & round 13 pin din plug on the other )to connect to the radio & the long one ( Round 13 pin din each end ) that connects to the changer & the short lead.

Hi
The pair of leads cost me £53 from Peugeot back in 1999.
Try a car stereo shop, Have a hunt down the scrap yard.
If you can find a Pug 405 or Citroen Xantia with a Clarion changer in it that will take care of the long Din lead, Or if your really lucky you might find another 406 with the lead in down there.
Also have a look on ebay, you might be lucky on there.
