Hi Shaun - Your squeak could just be a mis-aligned piece of bodywork, on the other hand if the noise is more 'creak' than 'squeak', then it might be rear arm bearings. What sort of mileage has your car done? How do the wheels look from the rear? Are they leaning inwards at the top?

it's done 135k, wheels look ok, it is more of a creak than a squeak <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> (wheres the cheese!!). looked in haynes manual, can't seem to find anything about rear arm bearings are they know by another name.

Hi Shaun - At 135K the rear arm bearings could certainly be on the way out. If you have a Haynes Xantia book you'll find the rear arms mentioned in chapter 11/para 12. Unfortunately it doesn't describe replacing the bearings. Haynes aint what they used to be! If you can get a look at the Haynes book for a BX, it does tell you in that. Or if you go to www.bx.citroen.org there is a link telling you how to test them and how to do the job. It's a Japanese site but you can click on the English version.
