3rd broken height corrector in 3 months *!!*

Post by mucky »

My 94 xantia has just broken its 3rd rear height adjuster in 3 months. The first where from scrappers, but the latest was a dealership part. Its not the plastic going, but the metal rod coming away from the clamp.
I have 2 questions. 1:why is it doing it? and 2: can i weld it together to save buying another?

A Height Corrector just dont break down [:)]
You must have a different problem. Are you dead sure to obey cleanliness when removing/fitting the piping ? A single grain of grit will seize it, as it is a micro-machined part internally.
You could have a problem with a wrong angle in the mesh of the linkage.
