TZI project.

It needs decatting. Earlier models didn't have cats. Is this a matter of getting a longer front downpipe? Does the downpipe carry the front silencer. Sorry to ask but I haven't been under the car yet. David tells me that there are three boxes plus the cat, two at the back and one at the front. Is that right? The whole exhaust is a bit creaky and I dread the cost of a whole new system!

All you need to do is fit a BX GTi 8v downpipe, job done. Its a big long thing that includes a small muffler. It then joins into the interpipe (hockey stick) which goes to the crossbox which goes to the rear silencer!
I'd budget for an interpipe too, could be a nightmare to separate the old one from the catted downpipe, they are quite cheap.
