ZX steering fault

Postby adrianeaton » 06 Mar 2001, 19:00

We have an unusual problem with our ZX Furio. When manoeuvring on or near full lock the steering (power assisted) goes extremely heavy to the point it's a real effort to pull it back. Sometimes it helps to release the steering and try again but I've had the belt tension checked and no probs.
There's no other problem with the steering, the car handles perfectly and hasn't shown tendencies to do this at much above jogging pace.
Anybody come across this?

I had that kind of problem too after six years with zx 20i. I just change the steering damper then everything back to normal. It cost me about USD 200.
