What do the small stamped numbers mean on the centre of the threaded part of the sphere? Are they refering to the oil hole orifice size?
My car is a xantia 110 bhp HDi SX diesel estate 1999 model. It is non hydractive and has six spheres. Two front, two rear, one acc and one antisink. The car has done 33,500 miles and the ride is very harsh, the rear is bumpy over most surfaces.I am thinking of changing all six spheres but can't find suitable replacements listed, other than genuine Citroen parts. The numbers stamped on the spheres are;-
Front F4 (DL) (55) 96178589 D 400
Accumulator(A) (62) 95437354 D 400
Antisink (FA) (50) 96145672 D 400
Rear (F93)(40) 96239029 D 400
Does anyone know if these are liable to be the original spheres from new? Where can I buy HDI type spheres?
Mike.
