The service intervals in both the books for my HDI's state 12500 miles.
Semi or fully synthetic oil must be used if you follow this interval.

Wow! thats alot of miles! I think I will change oil and filter every 3k as its on 103k already. I think that as its already got the miles on it I will use the semi synth oil.... any recommendations on make ?

On my Xantia Hdi there is a 'countdown' on the odometer when switching on the ignition.
This reads lower every time I start the car after a drive.
I suspect it is related to the next due service.
Is this correct?
If so, how do I re-set it?
I haven't got the manuals.
Thanks

To reset the service countdown all you have to do is push the odometer/trip meter button next to the speedo then turn the ignition key.

Thanks for the replies.
Like Seamster15's original question, I too think that the service interval is too long and that i will also change the oil more frequently.
This is an excellent forum!
