Xantia Low Fuel light

Post by Paxman Power »

Just a quickie. I have a 1996 Xantia 1.9TD LX.
When I switch the ignition on the coolant temp. gauge warning lamp lights up - going off when the engine starts. However the warning lamp on the fuel guage never lights - even with the fuel fairly low.
Anyone know if the LX spec includes a low fuel warning lamp?

AFAIK all models have a low fuel warning.
But this lamp never comes on as a check with ignition on - UNLESS of course the fuel is in fact low, and then it stays on as long as ignition is on wheter engine runs or not.

My 2.0 HDi LX has one, and it is frequently illuminated![:)]

It's supposed to come on with around 8 litres left in thank. This seems about right, I usually fill mine up (95 LX TD) as it's starting to come on and it takes in the region of 55 - 57 litres. Course the gauges lie like the proverbial, so I always fill to the top and go on the trip meter, filling again at about 500 miles.
