Hi all got a 2.1td xantia 98, the auto tensioner has become slack, adjusted up the eccentric roller as much as it can go but the auto tensioner has just had it, has anyone changed one before i guess the belts got to come off but is this thing going to go into orbit when its pulled put or is the spring not that firm, also what bolts holding the damn thing in? is it the 14mm ( i thinks its 14mm only looked at it quick ) thats just a little forward of the tensioner meny thanks simon

do you mean the alternator belt

Have you got the correct length of belt on it? It should be a 6 groove number 1738. If the eccentric roller is at its maximum, it sounds as though the belt is too long.
