electric xm armrest

Post by mark bodsworth »

Trying to install an electric armrest into a car that doesnt have provision on the loom. Working from the switch:
the
grey/white, grey/blue go from the switch to the armrest motor.
Can any one tell me where the
2 grey/blacks
grey/ red
orange
pink
go to?
cheers mark

Hi Mark,
I have sent you an e-mail regarding a pdf of the wiring diagram, if you can't wait for that, the followimg applies: (letter/number combinations in brackets () are the pin numbers in the connector block.
The grey/red wire (B4) goes to fuse F24 via relay contacts 3 and 5 of relay 817 (live feed)
The orange wire (A5)is the lighting feed for the indicator lamps in the switch
The grey/black (A4) are earthing wires
In my diagram, there are no pink or orange wires, but there are plain grey (B2) and green (B1) both these are earthing wires.
The wires to the motor grey/white =(A1) and grey/blue = (B5) should give you a clue.
Relay 817 is the relay for heated front seats (which you could probably dispose of).

Just started to fit armrest. Does anybody have any experiance of this? Having trouble locating a suitable position for the airbag unit (2 airbags) as the elec armrest now occupies the bolts.

Can anybody tell me on the models with the armrest, do they sit right down to the the console? (when fully down). Mine seems still to have about 3" of travel (at front).

Yes they sit right down at the front Mark. 3" is far too high that's nearly fully up!
