Cheers RichardW - I'll try to check him out on the way home from work. I think I know roughly where you mean. [:)]
I need to get the spheres done and and the indicator stalk switch replaced. I don't have the tools or the space to do the spheres myself, and the indicator's been niggling me for ages but I've just never got around to doing anything about it.
Thanks again for the info.

Yeah Citman, it's been (and still is) a great motor. I bought it in 2001 with 55000 on the clock for £1400, and did 400-500 motorway miles a week in it until I got the Xantia in May. The only major money I've spent on it has been a new cat at 110000 and a clutch about 5000 miles ago. The cat was working ok, but was starting to rust a tiny bit on the back end. Somebody who is handy at metalwork could probably have sorted it without buying a new one. The bodywork is in pretty good nick for the age and mileage - plenty of stone chips, some small dents, and fading paint on the rear passenger door. I've heard the 1.4 engines tend to give up around 140000 or 150000, but it's just had a clean bill of health from the local garage and drives as sweet as it did when I bought it. My missus uses it as her daily commuter now, which she wouldn't be doing if I didn't have faith in its ability to keep going. [:D] No probs with the gearbox either BTW. My last ZX before that one (1.4i Reflex) developed an annoying gearbox whine before it went to the scrappy at 180000.
So there's plenty of life left in yours at 90000 as long as you keep on top of servicing it by the book. [:)]
