Blower motor for ventilation system

Post by james306 »

When the car starts there is a couple of seconds delay before the fan comes on.After that the fan only stays on for a few minutes and then slows down and stops.I replaced it with another fan from a scrapyard and it does exactly the same thing.Anybody got any ideas.

Have you tried a new heater motor resistor? This sounds as though yours may have some form of thermal overload problem and that's why it's stopping. Normaly quite easy and cheap to buy and replace. What car's it on?

I'm sure that if you do a search on the site under heater or resistor it'll pop up. Some one in the last month has done it on a Xantia.
