How difficult is it to change the cable on a 91 xm 2.0 si petrol

Fiddly, but not difficult. The Haynes manual gave me almost enough clues. I assume that your cable is the self-adjusting type. If so you'll need to use something appropriate to jam the cable outer in position in the frame that holds the bellcrank (where it comes out of the bulkhead) so that you can extend the cable to locate it in the lever at the bellhousing end. I think I used a square screwdriver between the cable outer and cable end. Small hands and a little imagination are helpful in fitting the cable to the pedal...
