96 Xantia Ambient temperature sensor

Hi,,
The outside ambient temperature sensor on my 96 xantia is just flashing 00. i assume this s a sensor fault or poor conection but i cant find the bloody sensor, has anyone got any idea where it is located????

Its on the underside of the drivers door mirror, the small 'lump' which protrudes.

Yes,looks like a screw cap.Couldn`t get it to move on mine.Then it started working again.No probs since.
