Wiring Fault

Post by Yvonne »

Could anyone please advise of what my wiring fault could be.
All appliances connected to 12v battery, but my t.v. has stopped working. The applinace works on 240v and car cig. lighter, so it's not the t.v.
Have tested the socket where it's plugged into and the connection that fits into the back, and there's current at both.
Thought it might be a wiring fault, as when one light is on and another swithced on, the first begins to flicker.
HELP!

Hi Yvonne
A bit more info needed here! What battery are you connecting TV to? A 'leisure' battery or the car battery?
What sort of socket is used?
Is the plug the same one as used in the cancerstick lighter?
What do you mean by 'current' ? How are you testing it?
What two lights are you referring to?
Come back to us with some details and we will sort it! [:D]

Yvonne, I am assuming you have a camper or similar?
If the lights you refer to are Flourescent, long thin tubes, then these are voltage conscious and as mentioned if the battery is low or there is poor voltage supply due to a fault then you will get the lights flickering and the TV will not work.
Can you give us a bit more info on the vehicle or application please. R
