Lowering springs

Post by markallinson »

Now that I have got my 16" wheels fitted to my Xsara estate, don't laugh, I want to lower it. I have found a kit by Gmax that looks about right BUT, how do you lower the rear if it is a Torsion bar arrangement. My Renault 19 has a kit listed also but I always assumed you can't lower the rear as there are no springs? Perhaps I am just being a donut?

You can lower the rear of a ZX/Xsara by re-setting the torsion bars a few splines round. Not as easy as it looks apparently.

Go to www.jrfilters.com, they have different suspension kits for Citroen. You can buy only the springs or you can buy a complete kit (springs + dampers) for about US$700 (or at least that was the price here in Guatemala).
