transponder key coding

Post by zanairman »

recent disastrously expensive serious of events with 2.0 HDI LX estate
one mornig transponder warning light stays on buzzer continues no start.
RAC recovers to main agents ("DICKSONS") asked to recode
I am in middle of serious illness imminent demise of father senario
rung by agents wiring loom faults suspected looms £700 ,£800 to fit and you already owe us £248 for investigations.
Anybody had similar problems apparent spurious fault codes cannot be cleared and key coding impossible till they are. No apparent damage to wiring although accident repaired 2 years ago on offside wing leg etc.

Main Citroen dealers do have a habbit of being like this. My local Citroen dealer has come on leaps and bounds latley though since I mentioned about trading standards and unfair labour rates compared to other dealer in the same chain. It may pay to get a second opinion if you can recover to home. As for the recode yep thats expensive got quoted almost £200 +VAt for the coding of a new key for my Xsara.
