How old is your Citroen?

Post by Stuart McB »

To find out try this web site. You just put the 4 letter paint code in and it tells you when it was made.
www.citroen.mb.ca
You need to look for the organr word about half way down the page marked more.

The paint code is never going to tell you when its made. Surely you mean the RP (Orga) Number?
Thats the 4 figure stencilled code e.g 5910 (my ZX) which has later been replaced by a longer code like 009926FV (my Berlingo)
Quick RP decoder courtesy J Cats http://www.cats-citroen.net/index.html also the gsfcarparts.com downloads section has RP guide from 1981 to 2004 in PDF table format.

Look for the number on the inside door frame on the passengers side & you have the ORGA number.
Look on the strut support and you have the paint code.Xantia has both, one under the other on the firewall.
With a BX it's quite easy:

Oh well nearly right. On the xsara both paint code and ORGA numbers on on the front suspension turrets, one iehter side. Still works though and the site is a good read for older Citroen models.
