Xantia front suspension won't come down

Post by JohnCKL »

When I set my my Xantia 1.9TD suspension at highest level and then return it to normal level, the rear complies but the front remained stuck at the highest level, looks like a speedboat. My mechanic suggests to twist the steering and it does help to return the front down to normal. I have lubricated the front struts, it helped a bit at first but then later, it still refused to lower down. Is there anything else I can do to resolve this problem?

Sounds like the front height corrector mechanism is siezed, - a good clean and lubrication will probably sort it out.
TAKE CARE that the car is properly supported before touching the linkage - Citroens can kill!

Thanks Jeremy. My mechanic has sprayed some lubricant on the height corrector previously. I guess it need to be cleaned properly. Will check with Haynes to see how its done.
