AX Fuel Sender Unit whats the difference? PICS!

Post by cheesesliceking »

Hello!
Does anyone know if there is any difference between Fuel senders for the AX range? i.e. would a sender form a 1.0 carbed AX fit a 1.4 AX GT?.
Cheers!

Hi csk,
- not yet seen one on an AX, but the BX (carb'ed engines) all share the same sender unit over the various engine models.
The sender unit would match the depth of the fuel tank, which I believe is the same over the AX model range.

You never know with a Zitrun [8D]
... always things to learn [:)]
Not seen a single pipe sender unit on BX/CX.
Although the carb on some models only have a single attachment, an external Tee is fitted just before the carb.
Still your old problem with a constant (faulty) fuel gauge reading ?

Yep indeedy, Im sure Citroen only do certain things just to annoy people.. for instance... whats with the weird pedal lay out in the AX?? you can press pretty much all three pedals at the same time..& those HUGE Bottle holders in the doors?? who has bottles that big?
Anyhow..
Yes its till the same old problem of my fuel gauge not wanting to play, now its died completely..bloody French build quality.I'm thinking its the float, everything else is working ive checked al lthe electrics & even changed the Fuel Gauge..
The sender is on Ebay if anyone is interested..[:I]

Now then Mr Cheesesliceking
Mr Citroen says this:
Image
Missing bit at bottom of picture says
FUEL GAUGE
- SPORT SINCE RPO No. 05075

REF ORANGE

- GT

IMPERATIVE: 3W BULB IN DASHBOARD

So, it seems that GT ones are different. [?]

My understanding of this is that GT and Sport AXs use a different fuel tank sender than lesser models, and that there was a change to it at RP 5075!!!!!!

Ahh i see, Cheers Jon, I sorted one out now from a fellow AXer![:D]
Meexi,
I dont think it would fit, i think they are fuel tank size specific, so u might be better looking for one from a AX Diesel. plenty of them in breakers[B)]
