I bought a 1994 Xantia 1.9 TD.
I got it fairly cheaply, and now I know why. I have two issues I hope someone can help me with.
(1) Stereo Code
I dont have the security code for the radio/cassette. I called Citroen, but was told N reg was too old to find out what the code is. I dont know what to do
(2) The central locking is playing up. I have to try the key in the lock 10 or 20 times to get it to "bite". The key appears a little worn, but functions in the boot, and ignition with no problem at all.
Any ideas would be great.
Thanks
Luke

to add. I went to a garage, and they decoded the radio. But its not coming up "code" to let me enter it. it just has ---- Which I think means its locked. I have the car running for several hours with the stereo on. But it doesnt unlock. Any ideas?
Luke

Hi
N reg too old, thats a load of rubbish, Ive got a N reg Peugeot 405 & the dealer can still get all the information for the radio code, key codes etc of the VIN number.
I was in the Peugeot dealer about 3 weeks ago & he showed me the screen with all my cars details on when we where looking for a trim part.
Sounds like your Citroen dealer cant be bothered.

Hi
Try a new key in the lock to see if that helps, If not try swopping the barrels round between the front doors or getting a cheap alarm with remote locking.
You could always bite the bullet & get a new lock barrel from Citroen if you have the Keycode for the car & they can be bothered to help you.
Peugeot charge £13 to get your key code.
Cheap alarm option sounds the best, Look at Microscan, Maplins & other car places do these, but its cheaper to get one from Microscans website, Dont even think about going to Halfords!
Have you tried putting the code into the stero after they had unlocked it?
