Berlingo 1.6 16v Tapping

Post by robwhittaker »

Hi,
I have a 2003 Citroen Berlingo 1.6 16v. When idling an annoying 'tapping' intermittently noise starts up from somewhere in the area of the front driver's side wing, fairly close to the base of the windscreen. My Citroen dealer informs me it is noisy injectors but an RAC man says its not that but some kind of pressure release valve, something to do with a carbon filter.
It doesn't do it all the time, but starts, speeds up, slows down etc and then stops!
Does this mean anything to anyone please?

sounds like the charcoal canister electrovalve, its for controling the release of fuel vapour into the intake system,it will sound similar to an injector & its the ECU that controls it.dont think its anything to worry about.
just turn the radio up [:p]
