Brake Equalising Valves

Post by volcane305 »

My brothers ZX Volcane has failed the MOT because of rear brake imbalance. I think new equalising valves are required. Does anyone know where these can be got (apart from a main dealer) Already quoted £38+vat each. I bought the same parts before for £30 inc.
Thanks
Jon

They are the same as the ones on the 205 1.9GTi, GSF do sell them T65383 for £29.50.

Unlikely to be the valves, more probable usual seized pads or calipers or both.strip and sort those first.

These pressure limiting valves are a frequent cause of mot failure, if it passed on the hand brake and failed on the foot brake then the caliper is not siezed, the valve would then appear to be the culprit.

Thanks
I will get the brother to call GSF tomorrow might also be worth trying local Peugeot dealer to see if they have any old stock. I had the same problem on another volcane two years ago this one has the same symptoms, the calipers have been stripped and the handbrake works well
