berlingo

Post by kaceb »

i have recently purchased a berligo van, (2 days ago)
after doing little jobs on it all weekend I have noticed that there are still a few to do and would appreciate it if any one could offer me any assistance on the following;
only the fastest setting on the wipers works, but dosnt return to the stop position when switched off. also no washers.
the immobiliser seems to be by-passed, both lights (red & green)come on with ignition lights. checked that wires are plugged in the back of the keypad. would especially like to sort this and get it going.
and the stereo needs a code, has 3 lines displayed. previous owner thinks he may have it written down on a scrap of paper somewhere but i dont hold out much hope!. is there any other way of finding out the code? or resetting it?
also i need a drivers side rear light lense if any one has one they would like to sell me.
seems to be a great little van, much better than me old bone shaker escort, just needs these little jobs sorting.
thanks to anyone that can help

Assuming the stereo is the original Citroen fitted model, you should be able to go to a Citroen dealer (armed with the logbook to prove ownership and probably some other sort of ID to prove address) and get the code.
I would think that as both your wipers and washers don't work that the column switch (which does both doesn't it??) is probably at fault as it is the "common point" between the two, although there is a chance it could be the wiring. You could try cleaning the switch with some electrical switch cleaner (like servisol) as a start to see if that makes any difference.
