Lucas diesel pump - max fuel setting

Hi
I'm attempting to tune my turbo diesel as many of you have done here. The part I'm having trouble with is getting to the maximum fuel screw on the lucas injection pump. How exactly do I remove the inspection plug? The guide I'm reading says to make dents in the plug with a screwdriver to gain leverage but it seems pretty hard and doesn't want to budge.
Anyone here who's done this care to share any techniques?
