Fitting clutch cable

Post by alan s »

Late this afternoon (early this morning your time) whilst waiting for my wife to open a gate, there's a clunk, a pop & I disappear up the driveway with the clutch pedal sitting on the floor.....broken cluch cable!!
Expression on wife's face was something to behold as she chased me up the driveway... [:0][:I]

I'm also fitting a new alternator (fan) belt, serpentine type. I mention this as I tried to buy one in the UK a while back but was given a strange sized one & told the original was no longer available. The one supplied will only work if not used in conjunction with the jockey wheel but this causes the belt to squeal. I discovered that although the exact size wasn't available, a replacement 5mm larger in circumference was which should be easily adjusted up. Thought I'd mention it in case anyone else had been caught with this belt conundrum. [:D]
