dropped front

Post by peter1138 »

Hmm, just got into my car, started her up and the front dropped quite a bit fairly rapidly. Odd, I thought, so I got out and checked the height. It was normal...
Any ideas what happened?

Is'nt that quite normal with a car fitted with anti-drop spheres?

Anti-sink can do some odd things... If you stop the car and leave it a few hours with some weight in it, then take the weight out, it will rise up (like getting out normally), but becuase the anti-sink valve is closed it will not drop back down again. Then when you start the engine, the A/S valve does open and the height corrects itself - in the opposite direction to normal - a most odd sensation! I suspect this is what happened to Peter's car - either that or it was the rear dropping due to flat A/S sphere on the back, which felt like the front coming up. I wouldn't worry too much unless it starts doing it regularly....

Ah, could be that then as I was sat in it for 10 minutes or so with the ignition off before getting out earlier.
