Xantia Brake DIsc

Post by marcusloh »

Hi,
After faithfully serving my XTD for the past 5 years, my brake disc is due for a replacement. After asking around, I have found these brands: Sasic, France and SBS (Scandinavian Brake System), Denmark. Not sure if Valeo, France produces brake disc for XTDs.
Does anyone have experience with these brake discs and any ideas of the price?

Hi Ran,
Thanks for the info on the brake discs. it would be good if you can share some of your experience on the different capabilities or advantages of different brands of brake discs especially Brembo as I am awarethat it is of a higher end range than Valeo or Sasic. Furthermore, prices in UK are definitley much more cheaper than in Malaysia.

Marcus -
Me self being a sedate driver, have never had problems with the standard brakes parts. This is commonly Bendix as specified by Citroen.
Most problems comes from ignorant brakes service.
Note that there is always a tendency to go get performance parts, as this is encouraged all over in adds, and sellers will be more than happy to sing about the qualities on these parts. Naturally : higher costs, higher earnings.
But these performance parts only show their qualities if your drive style is more like racing against the red lights, i.e. repeated abuse to the brakes.

Hi Anders,
Thanks for the info. Just wanted the last word on these brands before I change the brake discs.
