xm2.5 td suspension (help needed)

Post by neilsxm »

hi
having sorted a multitude of problems out left with 3 that i can't seem to sort
1 set rear height, half travel method(cheers alexx)
but when i drive the car the rear suspension raises up about 40-50mm then takes ages to come back down (except if you switch off ignition then it goes to normal height)
2 pull up at a stop leave foot on brake then rear end drops right down then instantly pumps itself back up but it doesn't do it all the time maybe 1-3times a week
3 at speeds above 90-95mph the suspension seems to get bouncy (read to hard)
any help gratefully recieved

Hi neil -
1) have you adjusted the rear HC links as mentioned here :
http://www.andyspares.com/discussionfor ... IC_ID=6815
2) this points to the rear HC or linkage is stuck, and suddenly releases
3) not sure on this one, but you DO know that the suspension computer overrides your suspension setting, always selecting hard mode at speeds ?
Since the hard mode is selected, the HA center sphere is then disconnected, leaving only the wheel spheres as suspension elements, just like a "standard" hydropneumatic Citroen. Thus this feeling of too hard suspension at speeds may be caused by (nearly) flat wheel spheres.
BTW :
If you deliberately set the car to lowest suspension height with your manual control (engine idle, car parked), then what time interval do you get from the the PR tickings ??
