Smelly heater
Just got back from picking my new xanita up, one problem that has occured over th 60 mile journey home is the heater smells very very earthie, with a hint of dead in it, any ideas what it would be or will it go in time
You need to look in the footwell underneath your glovebox. Whilst looking up towards the glovebox undo the screws (funny flower ones!)holding the carpet in place. Pull back the carpet. Under here you'll have 2 or 3 more screws (cross head). Undo these and the pollen filter cover will then slide out. Slide it towards the driver's side. The pollen filter will drop out, clean the housing, replace new filter and put everything back in reverse order. Hope this helps. I've just done it to my xantia and the smell has gone.
MINE is a 97 td and after removing carpet I could not find any screws at all, the cover to the filter is about 5 inches long by about an inch wide and slides out one side, mine would not budge due to never being moved since new, it had some sticky foam seal around it, had to push and pull a few times to shift it.
