Stuck heater control

Hi all
My heater controls are stuck on hot and I've got a 2 hour motorway journey back to my house tomorrow. I've had a quick look on the forum with not too much joy. My manuals and tools are all at home so I can't do anything til tomorrow. Can someone give me any advice on sorting it out so that I have something to think about whilst sweating my nuts off on the return journey!

They're an all cable affair so likely that one has come unclipped or broken, fairly easey to get at though so don't sweat too much, save all that for when the matrix goes[:D]
