Hi,
I have a 99 Xantia and the temp gauge in side the car reads approx. 20 degrees over. is there anyway to reset thi sensor?
many thanks

Does the fuel gauge read a bit optomistic as well? If so, then the voltage regulator sounds like it may be goosed. Quick check; get the car to normal temp (preferably not with a full tank of fuel), stop, turn off for a few seconds (till the gauges drop), then just turn the igntion on for long enough for the gauges to stabilise. Start the car and see if they go up - may be more noticable on the fuel gauge.
Reason? The car voltage is 11.5-12V without the engine running; it'll be 13.5-14V-ish with it running. This extra voltage will show as a higher reading on the gauges - it should normally be 10V (IIRC...)
