Citroen C5 AC blower location

Post by Eitanp »

Hi all,
Love this community, great pals.
I have a C5 2006 2.0 petrol, left side driver, I believe you call it mk2.
The interior AC blower has a great vibration while at it's highest speed.
I've searched the entire network but couldn't find the blower location neither how to remove it.
It's either faulty or has some staff in it.
I saw a cyilinder like shape behind the main console, at the bottom. Not sure it's the one, nor how to access it.
Thanks a lot in advance,
Eitan

You have to remove the fascia to get at it = but unfortunately there is no indication of what part they are referring to - but it is on the left hand side - so I suspect you would need to remove the right floor trim panel by the foot pedals to get access

Thanks a lot,
Let me see I got it right.
Can you please take a look at what I marked, would that be the inner filter? Because I've seen it on deep bottom left side near the pedals.

If you are referring to the Pollen Filter, then yes - the cover for it is shown here, item 6 and the filter is item 5 that slides in.

I did a guide for the Mark III (X7) Citroen C5. So although the parts may be different and the trim slightly different, it should give you an idea of how to get to it - but mine is a Right Hand drive, but he filter is still in the same place:

viewtopic.php?f=11&t=56904&hilit=pollen

So ignore all the part numbers etc., as they will be different.

Thanks a lot, extremely detailed howto.
I wonder then how to get to the motor, open it, clean it or replace it if necessary.
Has anybody done work?

Check the pollen filter first - this is not part of the standard Citroen service - you have to ask for it to be done. You'll probably find it is full of bugs and crap - if it gets too blocked it can cause the motor to strain - so start with the easy things and don't forget to hoover / vacuum out the filter housing with a crevice tools as there can be a back-build up of muck that hasn't come out.

Don't be tempted to start the blower motor without the filter in place or it could blow debris straight into the assembly and the air ducting causing a blockage.

There are several options for replacement filters:

Standard Carbon (Original Equipment): 6441EJ
Original Cheaper version Citroen supply: E146106
Premium Quality Anti Allergenic: 647943
