C2 vts ride height??

Post by Timmo »

hi guys,
i spent an hour or so on the mighty goog last night trying to find some info on this but drew a blank, i am trying to find out the Stanmdard ride height on the C2VTS Centre of hub nut to wheel arch, i could find Many Many toopics through out the net on How much to lower the car by in the minds of a Yoof for scene points, but nothing about standard height, i need to do the top strut mounts on the car and if the springs have sagged sufficiently i may aswell replace them whilst i am at it! ;-)
timmo.

The height settings are measured thus:

Note - for your Specific C2 (TU5JP4S), I have highlighted the correct settings in RED
Measuring:.
  • Correct tyre pressure.
  • Setting the reference height.
  • Steering rack set at its zero point.

  • R1: Front wheel radius under load
  • R2: Rear wheel radius under load
  • H1: Dimension between measuring zone under the front subframe and the ground
  • H2: Dimension between measuring zone under the rear side rail and the ground
  • L1: Distance between the wheel axis and the measuring zone under the front subframe
  • L2: Distance between the wheel axis and the measuring zone under the rear longeron
  • [1] gauge for measuring the radius of 4-screw road wheels : [4300-T].
  • Z1: Measuring zone under the front subframe.
  • Z2: Measuring zone under the rear longeron.
FRONT
Measure the wheel radius (front): R1.
Calculate the dimension H1 = R1 - L1

REAR
Measure the radius of the rear wheel: R2.
Calculate the dimension H2 = R2 + L2.

No problems, just be sure you check the arrow heads facing each other in L1 in the first diagram, as they are not easy to see, but they are there. Clicking the picture will zoom it up a bit.
