The fuel pump output is on pin 5 of the 28 way grey connector. Might be able to trace which relay from that pin with a meter?

This thread just saved me from myself when I was almost about to go wire in a fuel pump switch after chasing the lack of power to the pump around for a few hours on the side of the road...
I checked the grey connector on the engine bay fusebox and sure enough the pump pin was all black and the plastic around it melted. Started right back up after cleaning it and squeezing the little contact tabs back together. My car is a mk1 2.2hdi c5 by the way.
The title is fitting too as I was searching for the location of the pump relay when I found this Pretty sure everyone with one of these should go check their grey connector to avoid getting stuck like me.

You may get problems with it again in the future, very common problem. Replacement terminals are available from the dealer for pennies.
