ABS Pump Part Number

Post by maxwell98 »

Hi there I need a part number for my faulty abs pump I can read the numbers on the controller but the part number on the pump itself is unreadable. It is a Citroen C2 2006 1.4 hdi -
the part numbers on the controller are ABS MK 70 CEM 00 - 10.0970-11243 - 00402048E0 MY Vin No is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]. Also am I right in thinking that if I use the old module and replace the pump I will not need to reprogram it.
Thanks in advance for all help

Right, to start off with these are 2 separate parts there is the hydraulic block and then there is the ECU - they are available separately, but neither still available from Citroen.

The block is item 1 and the ECU item 2 - part numbers to help with a search are shown in the table. Using these you should be able to locate a second hand one.

If fitting a second hand unit - make sure you match the numbers on the old one - if keeping your old ECU you should be fine with coding.

I've got a faulty ABS pump that came back with error that there is a block in the pump. Need to get a replacement but breakers are asking for part number. Citroën refused to give it to me so just wondering if there's a way to get it without the actual part being out of the car?

All I have is the VIN currently.

Many thanks

Ok, so in the diagram, item 1 is the ABS Hydraulic Block and item 2 is the ECU.

It is always better to keep your own ECU to avoid coding, otherwise you will have to configure / reconfigure the replacement with the specific options on your car using Lexia.

The breaker may have the complete module and probably won't bother separating these.

Part number for the ABS Hydraulic Block: 4541FX
Part number for the ABS ECU: 4542N1

These are PSA part numbers.

Thanks so much for your help! Is it hard to separate the block and ECU?

You have the MK 70 version of the ABS Block - so there are 3 bolts to undo as shown on the diagram.
C2 ABS MK 70.PNG
Always follow the battery disconnection and reconnection procedure before replacing and after refitting.
When refitting, tighten the bolts (2) to 0,24 ± 0,04 m.daN.

No that one is not compatible - but search on 9662150680 and that should be compatible with the the OEM part of 4541FX

Sorry for plaguing you Marc. One final confirmation needed if you can please.

I've found this listing on eBay based on the number in your last post

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 3459964260

I've also today managed to snap a photo of the control unit on my car see attached. I noticed the numbers are different but would the Hydraulic Block be the same?

Ok, no worries - the ECU is slightly different - but if you are going to reuse you own ECU, that won't be an issue as you will just be replacing the hydraulic block, and that is the correct number for the block. :-D

Marc just wanted to say thanks again for your help. Turns out the cause of the ABS Pump fault was a missing nearside front wheel arch liner. This was allowing water spray to get forced in and around the pump and when it was removed from the car it literally fell apart! All sorted again now with a replacement.

Great news that it’s fixed and thanks for letting us know the outcome. Was it the block or the ECU that fell apart, or both as a matter of interest?
