CPGP air con drain outlet location.

Post by discv »

I do not have a problem--yet! The A/C is working just fine, but there is no sign of waste water under the car.
I'm led to believe that the waste outlet is somewhere under the drivers seat, with some form of cover/baffle fitted over it.

But for the life of me I just can't find it. I've had a shot at tracing the plastic tube from the lower centre facia and under the carpet, but that is turning into a major nightmare.
Any pointers would be appreciated.

It appears to be on the other side - this view is from the engine side of the heater box

Thanks Richard. I will certainly be having a look on the other side- but I think, at the moment, that the route is via the drivers left foot rest.
Are you thinking that item 8 is the outlet pipe- and that item 9 is fitted remotely?

Yes, 8 and 9 - these are the descriptions:

08 WATER PIPE
09 WATER EVACUATION BOX

To be fair, I always thought ours drained somewhere under the driver's feet, so perhaps the tube goes behind the heater box, and then the drain is under the foot rest.

I am looking defeat in the face. Nowhere under the car can I find anything that resembles an outlet or outlet cover.
I am thinking that the pipe [if it exists !] is installed/accessed under the carpet. But the carpet is a solid carpet/foam unit.
I would consider hacking in- if I knew where.

So I bit the bullet and striped out the drivers seat and then everything else until I reached an empty floor pan- and guess what.

There is no A/C waste water pipe. Quite how and where the water goes I know not, but I would guess that it drops straight through the bottom onto the exhaust. Much like a domestic fridge.

Remember, Citroen are French, and the driver seat in France would be on the left hand side of the car.
