I performed another test with Lexia.
Variable speed is working, from aprox. 13 seconds until approx. 28 seconds, speed remians the same.
I have no idea if it's ok or not. No "switch" from low to high speed.

Re: C5 II runnig hot (overheating) when towing
I carefully checked wiring diagram of fan control and I cannot see that it's 2-speed fan.
Only variable-speed. Am I wrong?

No it’s a 2 speed. There is no variable on this, only a 3 speed on some variants, not yours though.
Lexia is only showing that in the test, it should go to High speed.

Sorry man, I can't see it's 2-speed, this is my arrangement: And this is my explanation of system: Am I missing something?

All I'm telling you is what your car is fitted with.
"FAN 1 ELECTRONIC FAN INTEGRAL CTRL 150W"
The system on your car has 2 speeds according to the following engine types: yours I marked in red.
The 'Chopper' type is a PWM (Pulse Width Modulator) with integrated circuit in the fan unit itself that responds to commands from other ECUs (Engine ECU / BSI). So it's a complete assembly - if it's failing then you probably need a new one.

Re: C5 II runnig hot (overheating) when towing
I made some tests and research.First I removed front bumber and cooling fan.
The fan type is exactly like it's explained in Belarus page - this fan type:
https://www.eurofrance.pl/Cooling-Fan-B ... rrency=PLN
It seems its genuine PSA part. It is using Johnson Electric fan motor: Funny thing is it's rated 500W ELECTRIC and 160W Airflow . Now I understand why it has 50Amp relay
I made test with no control signal (open circuit) and measured current draw, it was approx 37 Amps at 13.3 Volts. Which is approx. 500W power consumption. So fan itself and (PWM) regulating circuit is working.
But "diagnostic" output is somehov strange, certainly it's not between 0 and 1V (at full speed), like nicely described in this explanation:
https://translate.google.si/translate?h ... oAuto.html
So it is possible that feedback from fan isn't working correctly.
I made a little modicifation: I just splitted the "Signal" wire and extented two wires to a place where they are accessible, so I can override fan control and put at full blast mode.
Like this: As soon as possible I will take the caravan to test drive to some long motorway incline to check it and compare temperature behavior with default and override setting. Will report back.

Re: C5 II runnig hot (overheating) when towing
OK, yesterday I made test drive with original and override setting.
Default: peak tempereature was 104 C
Override: peak temperature was 99 C
If nothing else, it can buy me some time while engine is at hard load.
will report back when we will have real journey with caravan.
