All I can tell you is look at the OFFICIAL Citroen diagram that I have given you in my post - that is the part number for item 7 on the Diagram that you indicated and is specific to your VIN.

A mate working in a garage may not be looking at the right car and there are lots of these dependent upon model. If you go into the Citroen Garage with your VIN they will show the same part. The one above in your link is not coming up on the official database database.

There are 2 versions of the 2.2 - that's why I always ask fro the VIN, as it avoids issues in getting the wrong parts - and the hassle of sending parts back.

The data I am using is live, so I can't say it any plainer.

Hi Rick - no you've not upset me at all :)

It's just that we try to ascertain the correct parts for members to save them the hassle, as we hear again and again people who put their reg numbers into ebay and other suppliers only to end up with the wrong part. Going by the manufacturer's VIN is like the DNA or a blueprint for your exact vehicle as it left the factory, complete with all your factory fitted options and ensures you get the same part.

Third party sellers don't always have accurate or the latest data and the reg number does not tell them exactly the variant of the vehicle that can make a difference.

I really hope this part resolves your car's issues, but do let us know how it goes and if you need any more info, just post.

0382N4 is only listed on PSA's diagrams for a DW10ATED (2.0 HDi) in a 406 so not even close!

Jbbu is absolutely correct - the 0382N4 hose is only listed for the Peugeot 406 and not even listed against any Citroen models as you can see and the part looks completely different:

Hi Marc I have replaced the turbo pipe whilst under their had a look at the pipes feeding the air pressure switch no problems found with them tried a different pressure switch which was second hand so not sure if it was working properly and still have the same problem except are now get a fault code of p1447. Have refitted my original pressure differential switch and still have fault code p1447. Whilst the vehicle was running I put my hands around the flexi on the exhaust and there is a slight blow on it would this cause the problem as well. If the flexi needs replacing would you be able to give me a part number please many thanks Rick

Hi Rick, the P1447 code is: Differential exhaust pressure signal: Clogged particle filter. Now that can mean the sensor is faulty as opposed to the particle filter being clogged - or if there is a leak then the readings are going to be out of kilter and throwing the warning.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by the 'Flexi' - but on the right table is a more detailed view showing the longer parts of the pressure pipes and some of the other components.

If this is not right, just let me know.

Hi Marc do you know if there is a way of fooling or mimicking the fuel flap Open signal because I keep getting told by my garage but that is the problem and won't allow the car to come out of limp mode. Does it work on voltage or homes or what would you know as I have been quoted £150 for the reed sensor itself which I think is a bit excessive and I would like to either rule it in or rule it out without replacing it

Reed switches are dirt cheap. Worth fitting one yourself if you can locate the old one.
Do check that the magnet that operates it is present as they have been known to fall off.
Again a new magnet isn't a costly item

Steve popped that post in just before ^... but here some further info.
Hi Rick, the fuel cap (not the flap) has magnets mounted on it thus:
Gumbo Fuel Cap A.PNG
Gumbo Fuel Cap B.PNG
So the permanent magnets are '7' in the first diagram and the plug presence detect harness is '6' and can be seen on the second diagram part 20.

This harness is £135.88 (inc. VAT) from Citroen and is part number: 6534PF. Its role is to inform the BSI of the opening and closing of the fuel tank cap and secondly, from that information detect that fuel may of been added. So when the cap is closed, the magnet is opposite the contact.

As for testing:
Allocation of channels of the connector:
  • Terminal 1: 5 volts supply
  • Terminal 2: signal
  • Presence of the magnet opposite the contact: Resistance = 150 000 ohms
  • Absence of the magnet opposite the contact: Resistance = 15 ohms
BSI Role:
The BSI sends the following information to the engine ECU:
  • Volume of fuel added
  • Counter of the volume of fuel added
  • Status of additive system(diagnosis of the additive system)
The BSI receives the following information from the engine management ECU:
  • Minimum fuel additive level warning
  • Request for lighting of the "MIL" lamp
  • Risk of particle filter clogging
Engine (Injection ) ECU Role:
The engine management ECU manages the injection of fuel additive.

The engine management ECU software incorporates:
  • Management of the beginning and duration of additive injection into the fuel tank
  • Management of the total quantity of fuel additive injected since the start of the service life of the particle filter
  • Emergency strategies
  • Memorisation of faults present
The engine management ECU carries out the electric control of the fuel additive pump.

I don't believe there is a way to fool it - but at least you may be able to test the operation.

There's a link to reed switches on eBay in my post but they are widely available.

From Marcs description it is probably something like this that you would need.

Hi Steve sorry to sound a bit thick but do you suggest that I buy a burglar alarm Reed switch and cut the Citroen switch off the end of the wire and connect that in in its place.??

It is what I would do.
Can't guarantee it will work but should be a simple test.

Have you checked for missing magnets? Easiest and cheapest first step, also try operating the existing reed switch with a strong (neodymium) magnet to see what effect that might have before cutting any wires.
